All 3 choices look like fun to me.  I'd prefer historically active plane sets, but Rabaul looks very appealing....I appreciate the work the organizers put into this and just want to encourage you to do what you can to maintain the historical accuracy, but still agree with your intent to maintain good gameplay..... so my vote is for A

Potential artwork (stolen from the internet) to promote the upcoming Fortress Rabaul campaign. ;)

A - But won't be looking at any design discussion until after the 12 hour is over.

When are we going to do a winter war with P39s, Brewsters, IL2s, 109Es with a ground element of T34s vs Panzer G and Hetzers?!

That is a very good question. Unfortunately, since the transition to AH3, we have lost many of the special terrains that represent events like the "Continuation War".

The special bases and objects in the Karelia terrain are no more and right now there are limitations on what the terrain team can do in regards to making these special terrains fully capable again.

I completely agree that this would be a great event to hold. It has been chatted up many times by the Scenario team, but it is what it is.

We would need a massive infusion HTC and Terrain Team support to make this happen.

Cheers...

I have an FSO design of this very battle. It originally began as a snapshot, but was turned down. I did not have the ground vehicles, however.

A Hopefully this one will not be a what if version where we all have to be 30k.

What ever,

I do not like PTO... But I will fly a torch for AXIS...

The most fun I have ever had in a PTO scenario is when the opposing fleets got close and there were like 300 PT boats in the water   :x

Final Frame, Final 15 minutes of Pacific War progressive scenario :)

I'll fly anything, I would just beg the designers to count objects, I mean Count Them, it matters.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Zsm8B4bedFCORleUWyjcmn3n2Y_fxgzVM5qBmQDEp70/edit#gid=1534438820

Here is the object counts identifying and balancing the 12 hour war. This is the system Nef and I used both 12 hour events, and I use Every Time an event is designed when I'm involved. These are the objects, hardness, and how much ordinance is required to drop them.  This isn't the spread sheet showing that each plane can reach each target and objective by personally flying it.  This isn't the spreadsheet documenting the fuel burns effect.  It's one document logging months of energy proving that each objective can be met and counting the ordinance in the air compared to objects on the ground and Exactly How Much is needed.  The spreadsheet is Documenting the Results of verifying, not Calculating the Possibility.  There is a difference.  One is theoretical, one is factual.

If this much time and effort isn't spent, you are guessing, and it's not fair to the players who spend months designing their missions and planning.  Put effort into the design so we can count on it, and trust that our effort spending months of planning won't be wasted by winging it mid event.
Put the time into the design and you won't hear a word out of me, but trust me, I count each element when you guys build them so don't be surprised if you don't and you hear me call it out.
