Installing through steam
« on: August 28, 2017, 01:15:51 PM »
If I have AH3 already on my system, and I download it on steam.. is it going to overwrite my current copy?

Same question -- I can't write a review based upon adding the game to my library manually and running it through Steam, I still need to install the Steam version before it will allow me to write a review.

Is that going to cause issues?

Ok, the Steam version does install in a completely different place than the HTC version does.  Just note, Steam installations cannot use existing game accounts.

Yeah i just wanted to have it there to be able to write a review for the game without overwriting my current AH folder.

It will ask you if you want to import your other settings from your existing install. Tell it yes. I think that's just basic settings and maybe control mapping. I ended up just copying my skins folder, my views folder, and my controller config maps over after running steam for a minute then shutting down and exiting out.

I use same email on steam as here (no 2 week free trial in Steam and that's fine), I was wondering if it would be an issue to sub a steam version for a month as well as my main sub here?

I have a few friends I'd like to see me playing on Steam to get their interest? (I have mentioned it, the learning curve has them in doubt)

Any rules against this?

I see the advantage of spying on other sides, but that's not my intent.

FYI, (C:\Hitech Creations) name is Slam, (Steam) name is SJ001
