Mouse controls
« on: September 20, 2017, 11:53:43 AM »
Logged into the new version last night and my axis for elevator was backward.. same with the mouse roller i use for throttle.

Im not sure if this was your intention.. but rolling the mouse back should nose the plane up.. and forward down.. like a joystick would work.

It was easy enough for me to just click invert axis and fix it.. i just wanted to share if those are your default settings for mouse users.. they are assbackward.

Also.. the default sensativity was wayy to high.. my plane was bouncing all over the place.

After all the years playing this.. i was easily able to map everything back to my normal settings by inverting axis' and adjusting sensativity.. but new guy is going to have a hell of a time using a mouse with the settings i logged into.

To check what the default sensitivity is, rename your settings folder and test again.

Which way the nose moves is a matter of preference.  It's difficult to put yourself in the place of someone who does not fly.

I guess a side note too.. it changed the axis on my gunner position in tanks and ship guns too.

I would just think people would prefer the same reaction you would see from a joystick.  Your call.  Just wanted to share my findings as one of the few mouse drivers here.

You would think that until you watch people try fly with a mouse using command mode.
If you go normal back is up setting for non command mode, it would suddenly reverse. And in command mode is more like moving a cursor the flying a plane.

Ahh i see.. trying to mimic commander mode.

I tried WT once but cant recall.. i think it moves the way you have it setup now.

Did you rename your settings to run the sensitivity test?

If you did and is still to sensitive what sliders did you change?

Thanks.

Lazer, I mention you on a post on the 19th of Sep. on the Technical section. You were the first person I thought of when the second to the last patch went thru.  :O  Wondered if you were having similar problems. You are.  :( As you might remember, I fly with a mouse too for the last 16 years.  :aok   :airplane:  :old:

I have to search for a photo on my zip drive for a photo I took on my controls as a reference. Everything was reversed and to this day, I am still tweaking it. Not quiet the same.  :joystick:
