Question about the grid
« on: November 11, 2017, 09:20:12 PM »
Where exactly is the home view point in relation to the in-game map grid.  Dead center?  This is very important for me.

Dead center, don't change the orientation of the grid line around it, I got a message from Hitech about that with my last terrain. I centered the grid and Waffle had to make a new CBM for my terrain since Hitech had my project files. It is dead center for the map window in the game also.

Home is dead center I.E. 0,0 so bottom left corner is 256 miles from the 0,0 point. I.E. 256/25(miles per sector) = 10.24 sectors from bottom left corner to world center.

So when I start a new terrain in TE, should I select 512 or 256, or does it matter?  I'm assuming the terrain I'd be submitting would be confined to 256 x 256 (10 sectors by 10 sectors).  Is it that when you create one, it's created as 512x512 anyway? And it gets cropped to 10x10 sectors by the TE?

All terrains use a 512 x 512 mile base regardless of what you see on the clipboard.
The Settings determine the active area that the clipboard displays. You can change this at any time later if you forget.
Each sector is a 25 mile square. Do not change the layout of the sector lines or the in-game bar dar won't match your clipboard map.
Easy in-game again.
Since Tour 19 - 2001

The size selection is only so the map portion  both in game and in the terrain editor matches the real terrain position.
