Download speed.....
« on: November 15, 2017, 02:34:18 PM »
i keep getting file corruption errors x20 after updates, so i have to download full version every so often.
Downloading 1.6gb at 200kb/s takes 2+ hours and is so 2003 :)
Any better hosting you guys could get for this ? Basically this evening's flying is shot now :(

The download server is connected via a 500Mb/s connection.

About the only way we could speed it up is to place a download server in your country, but then you would be waiting for us to upload the patches anyway as we would then have the slow upload.

When I trace to you I see a lot of packet loss as the path goes through Level3's network.  That is never a good sign, but it is getting more and more difficult to get around Level3.

Are you running any anti-xxxx software on your computer?  That is the usual culprit for corrupting those patches.  Really nothing we can do about that.

McAfee is almost always going to be a problem fdski.  There is nothing we can do to stop it from corrupting our downloads.  Kaspersky, AVG, and Avast can be as bad.

Disabling it does not stop it either.   It simply stops reporting things.

I did not do anything.

I understand.  There are other options though.  Norton and McAfee are both, very intrusive and do manage to create a log of stability problems.
