Stuck on a tree.
« on: November 20, 2017, 10:16:25 AM »
I took a T-34 to defend a town yesterday and as I drove up the berm around the town I bumped a tree and got stuck. I didn't get a film, so I drew up this picture to describe what happened.  I was passing this row of trees (Looked like Arbor Vitae) on my left and I hit the last tree. I held the reverse button down, but the tank wouldn't back up. Over the next 6 minutes, I ran a DOE of factors in combination that included turning right, turning left, backing up and going forward, that produced no movement in any direction.  I held some of those combinations for 10-20 seconds and there was no evidence of progress in any direction.  The"unstuck routine" did not un-stick me, even after holding the forward button for 20 seconds. only slight scraping motion against the tree was visible, but it was very small amplitude, back and forth, and no progress toward getting unstuck.
I couldn't believe I couldn't just back up, because there was nothing behind me. Eventually I just towered out.   :salute
