How does one test the waters of FSO?  Just show up early on Friday night?

Yep you might pop in the fso forum and let them know you need a squad so they can get you setup beforehand OR just show up early like 10:30 or 10:45 and let folks know you need a squad. Someone will snatch you up.    That's how i'm populating my squad hehehehe

Delirium that's pretty horrific, glad those folks aren't around anymore. Luckily they were the exception rather than the rule.

remember it's a one life event but if you do die early, many folks then go into the main\melee arena to blow off steam.

Scenarios are closer to realism than FSOs are due to so much inter-squadron competition (real or imagined) during FSOs. My last FSO I was told by other squadrons that "they are here to rack up scores and friendlies get in the way". Maybe that environment has changed, but it soured my opinion very quickly and I have not been back.

Please note, the 412 was NOT the squadron in question and the squadron that was involved did not survive Skuzzy's ban-hammer.

The eye candy is at least two orders of magnitude better in AH3, imho.  But also imho, the 'magic' was the terrain you drove through in AH2, not the air you flew through.  And the magic is not lost.  It merely hasn't been brought out into the sunshine yet.  Great potential exists.  Please be patient.  A bunch of people are actively talking about this stuff, adding features and objects, trying out new software, working kinks out.  I am 100% confident that the magic will be back, Dundee.

It certainly is lost, hills you were able to climb in AH II you are no longer able to in AH III. The "Clear Cuts" or roads that were in AH II are gone....... The berms that GV's could hide and ambush from.........gone. The barns where M3's could evade from aircraft.... gone and GV Dar has been added The results are quite a few GV people have left because of these changes, many from the 49th. I might not be here 8th when the magic happens I'm in the process of burning perks as it is, it will take a while to burn 9,000 vehicle perks.

I may get my gear out and hook it up in my empty home. We are living in the RV in the driveway till the house is done.

They will not even be starting on my house till around april. Damn Harvey.

Hoping this is just a phase, but for the past month and a half I log after a single sortie, and that’s if I even decide to login at all.  FSO is keeping my sub but right now I’m at an all time low for MA gameplay.  I spent $1,400 bucks a year ago to play AH exclusively and it sucks im to this point already.  I’m trying new aircraft, vehicles, tactics etc but none of it is doing it for me.

Best thing might be to just not login at all for a month and hopefully the spirit is rejuvenated in 2018?

What do you guys do when interest in the game is in the dumps?

hit the quit button.  your ID will be there until the paid part of the month is over.  this way you can come back if you want to. not because you are paying for it.  With time your urge to play should return, perks will be gained, all will be well.

personally, i build a terrain, or try to come up with a new event, to get me going again. in your case, if you're having trouble staying interested, try something new. organize something and try it in the AVA or the SEA. ask to join the AVA or SEA staff. get more involved.

try building a terrain, large or small. if its small, the AVA is always interested. if its large, talk to hitech or the SEA guys. we're always looking for Terrain guys.

start a squad, get to know the guys that kill you and ask them to join up with you. if you cant beat them, join them.

hunt the guys that are better then you. find them and try to kill them. make it a game.

there are so many things you can do to keep your interest. hope this helps

It's a vast world in the gaming scene....Aces High has the potential, but a good size of it's player base keep it in the downward trend....the "everything is fine" crowd to be exact.

Player Unknown's Battlegrounds is an excellent shooter, DrSpek and I play together from time to time.

lol I have WoT with a few tier 9s and WoW but when I figured out I spent about $300 on a free game in the first 6 weeks of playing I stopped lol plus what makes this the best game for me is the community.. Being told on 200 great shot or man you're hard to kill all the way to you're weaksauce and please reup Scott66 were capping your base and none will up to get vulched ( I mean defend) I love all of these peeps!! You don't have this kind of chat on other games and you don't get to see the same people on your team and enemy unless you're in a clan.. So what I'm trying to say is frenchy please log back in and kill me in your beautiful jug
