Battleship task groups

The TE does not have a BB task group in the Shape group list nor is it listed in Available shapes unless Show All Shapes is ticked, so what is the procedure for adding one to an MA terrain? I assume it is to add a CV task group, change the CV object for a BB object and then alter the object data from 14 to something else.

It should be in the groups folder called: bship.obg

Here is the contents of the obg file:

It should be in shape groups as bship.

Add it exactly same way you do a CV task group. You can even add it to the same port that a CV is assigned to. If you doing only a single bb, it is exactly like a single CV. And yes you have to expand the object list to get at it.

The only things I have in the TE's Shape Groups are barges, convoy, cvtg0 and train1. In Available Shapes I have the battleship listed as bb but there is nothing called bship or anything that looks like it might be a battleship task group anywhere that I can see.

Do you know what your battleship's Object Data value is set to in Object Properties?

Treat the BB as you would a CV, object data is the port you are homing the BB to just like you do with a CV.

Dohhh! Of course it is, dumb of me. Thanks for your help Bustr, I'll try converting a CV TG into a BB TG and see what happens in the game offline.

Should work, I had to create my first BB group when Hitech asked me to place them in BowlMA, and then Hitech released a BB group a bit later. Make whatever grouping you want with the BB, then highlight them all and save group. Are you a few patches behind with your version of the game by any chance?

Out of date TE was my first thought, but the TE is downloaded with the game now and the game is up to date; both the TE and the game say 3.03 patch 2. I don't suppose HT released the BB group to you as a special patch and then forgot to put it in the main download? I think I'll wait and see if someone from HTC responds to this thread tomorrow before I start playing with the task groups.

It was in an update a while back including in the change.txt. I had to delete out my bb01 group because the patch update bship duplicated what Hitech asked my to create.

It is odd then that I don't have the BB group listed. I suppose the next stage is to download the full game and reinstall it.

That's it Arlo, for some reason my TE does not have bship listed. I'll download the full game tonight and reinstall it, hopefully that will sort it out.

Might be dumb of me to say so, but you might want to back up your ah3terr folder and skin project folders first.

I downloaded the full game install which has fixed the problem, I now have the bship group shown in the TE's list. Thanks for your help sorting this guys.
