Steam Version Of AH3

My Train Of Thought Goes Like This>>>
Since AH3 Is FTP On Steam. I Could Use It As Training. It Took A Lot More Than 2 Weeks To Set Everything Up And Feel Comfortable With Fighter Ace. After I Was Comfortable I Would Go With A Hi-Tech Subscription. Is This Sound Thinking?

AH3 is free to play from HTC also. There are a number of free arenas as well as the ability to create 16 player custom arenas yourself. You also get the "2 weeks" free in the Melee arena IF you dont have a prior account and used that 2 weeks up already.

So either way would work. If you want all the extras you get using Steam, go that way, if you just want AH, go that way.

There is no difference between Steam- and Non-Steam AH. Same arenas, same features, same free areas.

You can also play the game offline if you download it directly from the AH website. Take off from the field you spawn in at and you can chase the AI fighters circling around the field

Since Aces High is built on a real flight simulator, the learning curve is pretty steep.   So we strongly recommend to new players that they don't subscribe right away.  Spend some time in the Offline Practice Arena learning how to fly your airplane.  After you are comfortable with how the game works, then subscribe and start your free two weeks.

I'm not sure you can transfer your settings over from steam to AH..if not it would be a bit of a pain to re set it all up..someone will know..its free on both for 2 weeks anyway.

Training is available and is likely your best bet for improvement.

I remember when there was not check box option just instant drop to desktop. I don't know how many players were lost due to that. Ask any question on range and if you were a noob you got alt-f4 as the answer. :devil I know it got me once.  :)

IMHO, the best way for new players to learn the game is to jump into the main arena and interact with everyone. Sure you die allot but that is how you get better. The Training Arena is also available for more detailed instruction.

Many players join a squad right away and learn by participating. Allot is explained on the way. The learning curve is steep but there is allot going on any given night and the new player will find a niche pretty quick.  If you do not join a squad there are allot of players that will take the time to answer questions. There is also a help section on the AH main web page with lots of detailed instructions that any new player will find helpful. It is very organized so that it does not take long to find the topic or question that one is looking for, ie. Joystick set up.
