Saw a B-17 yesterday
« on: April 02, 2018, 04:56:49 PM »
So yesterday in the middle of the chaos of Easter Brunch, I stepped out for a cigarette, and saw a B-17 flying overhead in Eastern Vancouver WA, perhaps 500-800 feet or so.

Looked like it was inbound for PDX, flying SSW.

Couldn't identify any numbers or markings on the plane.

Anyone perhaps have any information about which bird this one was?

I actually found it on www.flightradar24.com     I have a business class subscription both there and on flightaware since I  am a host ADS-B site and upload my received data to both of those sites. Gets me a little more perks then the free memberships

Went in and did a playback of the local area, the B17 only showed up for a few moments on screen. Took the info over to flightaware and found a little better track of it.

That B-17 will be at the Museum of Flight this week-end. If you want to tour or ride in it, it's open to public.

For those in the Tucson area, the Collings Foundation will be at the Marana Airport Friday through Sunday this week.  B-17, B-25, and TF-51.
