TrackIR not working

I had some TIR oddness too. I've had an issue where TIR will randomly lose track of AH running. TIR is still up. It's tracking my head. Just doesn't see the game. Restart the game and it's fine. This issue almost always happens at or about my first flight of a session of AH. Particularly annoying just as we're rolling in FSO and TIR coughs up a loogie!

This has been going on for a while but it did happen to me each time I ran AH yesterday online and offline. Again, restarting the game straightened it out.

Next time this happens, press F1 let me know if it fixed it.

To the OP- Did you verify your TrackIR was active?  Did you get the blue light on the receiver showing when you went into AH?

Drano- Do you find it when you close and reopen the game quickly?  I've had it where I needed to close and reopen my game and was in a hurry (like from a disco) if you don't give things about 10 seconds in between closing AH and reopening it, very often TrackIR will not be enabled when you restart.  You get no blue light when you start AH then you have to do it again, remembering to wait a few seconds after closing.

HT- will F1 let you enable trackIR if you didn't have TrackIR started when you went into the client so restarting can be avoided?

No, but I had made a change with the TRACKER_OFF function, and F1 will enable the tracker if the off function was pressed.

I remembered you said that hoped it would cure the problem. I tried F1 and I got a message to the affect of full visibility not available. Is it something I have to map?

We used to have full/medium/short visual rage tied to F1/F2/f3.  I don't think those settings even work anymore.

Yup! Apparently they don't! But the re-enabling of tracking isn't either. At least for me.

 HT Is the F1 thing intended to re-establish tracking or is it a kind of pause switch? I can pause TIR with a hot key I have set up there no problem. My problem acts as if I'd closed AH which of course, I haven't.

going int to game clean, then Press F1 no message should be display.

Shift F1 is the default mapping of Full Vis Range. Did you remap F1 at some point.

The function I'm looking for is under View "Default View".

If F1 is mapped to Default View , and you are seening the Full Vis Range (Not Implemented) then you have a shift key stuck.

under view what key is view "Tracker Off" mapped to?

Not home yet but I can tell you I don't recall mapping F1 to anything. I remember it HAD been for changing the view detail level in the past. I know I hadn't  actively mapped it or any other regarding tracker. Will check it when I get in front of the PC.

All righty. I have Tracker off mapped to : CTRL+F5. F1 is default view. I may have tried shift plus F1 and that's where the Full Distance View prompt came from.

Naturally since I fnWANT TIR to randomly lose AH so I can test it out its steady as hell! Using CTRL+F5 does pause tracking and CTRL+F4 will resume. I'll be testing this the next time it happens. Probably as we're taking off for tonight's FSO frame! 5 can pretty much bet on that!

TrackIR is working just fine, with all the flight sims i play

Aces did it work in AH before? Is it just not seeing the game? If it did work before does restarting AH work? That's what I do when TIR loses track of it. When it happens to me it's still tracking my head all right, it just loses AH.

FYI right on cue TIR lost AH right before we took off in FSO last night. Was sitting in the tower for a few minutes before it happened. Neither of the tracker keys had any affect. I had to restart the game to get TIR back. I flew the frame and then several hours in the main arena after without TIR issue.
