308th Sentai:
Launched seven Ki-61 "Hien" fighters.
2 RTB safe.
5 MIA.
5 confirmed victories over Yankee air pirates.  (Becker x 3, FunkedUp x 2)
1 damaged.

Whoever the F4U's were between 48 and 8, that was a helluva fight.     :)

Hola,

416 RCAF "The Lynx"

Launched four Avengers from TG18:

Buzzbe
Firwal
Hening
Holder

Encountered mild opposition until we arrived at Port 55, Escort kept the Zeke's away from us, until bomb run.

Bounced by 12+ Zeke's at Target, Holder was lost due to Disco during Bomb run, Buzzbe, Firwal were lost due to fighters during Bomb run.

Hening (Pink Flight Suit) and Lancaster (Penguin Mascot and a damn fine gunner) destroyed docks and claimed one Ki-61 Hien destroyed.

Kudo's to our gunners for helping out.

We're new to this, but we are commited to work to make these events top notch. The tool's and simulation will allow us to create some great scenarios.

Don't have the details yet of kills, etc, but FDBs launched ju88s from A52 to A8.

We and our escort were intercepted by about a dozen f4us 75 miles or so out of A8.  I don't know yet how many were shot down and how many disco'd (seemed a little rough on the connections, at least for me lot worse than usual), but the short of it we had 2 bombers actually make it to A8.  There was significant damage done, I still need to review recon photos for specifics.

Sally and Myelo were the 2 88s to make it safely both to the target and back home again.

Ah the FDB's.  I was wondering who we hit.  big <S>  and a great fight from the SBM's (with pigs and tigers).

Anybody know who the 5 ki61's were that took on 3 F4u's by West of 48?

I was one of the Ki's that chased the high F4Us near the end of the frame.  I was about to smoke one when the "one I didn't see" blew me away.  Remind me not to attack superior aircraft unless I have some altitude.   :)

I think I know   :D
We came at 15K all the way from the Southern bases with Buzzbait in KI61s. They spoted a low f4 trying to make it home. We shalow dived to engage him. Sancho's was on a parralel course 1.5 quads away leading a flight of 3 KIs.
While engaging the single hog (makes me think to Falcon4), Buzz and me spotted 2 others coming in. From 2 KIs Vs 1 F4, that made 2 Kis Vs 3 F4s...ouch. Buzz got a F4 so we were down to 2 vs 2. Not for long, Sancho came in with his group, that made 2 f4s Vs 5 KIs...hehehe ... piouf..ty.
Congrat to Buzz who find a way to stay alive with 2 f4s on his 6 for at least 5 min. I got 1 on his 6, maybe it was you KillJoy  :)

IMPORTANT: All this was possible thank to WOTAN who tracked your position from the tower from P55 to A58...hehehe fly out of coastline next time guys. Oh and BTW, where was the TBM you guys left P55 with? When we first dived, we thought it was him, scared the heck out of me to see the nose guns of a Corsair  :D
Dat jugs bro.

This is what makes TOD so fun.  Your fight was with someone else.  Our 3 F4's all made it home.  WE got 3 of the 5 KI61's though.

/('o')\   Pig <S> to all at 48 for great fun.

Yeah, yeah.  You didn't get me 'cos I was ordered to disengage due to a low fuel state.
Killjoy, you guys hit the 308th.

Assassins launched 7 JU88's from A26, flew to the SW corner of map, torpedoed and sunk enemy Cruiser and Carrier, lost 3, flew the rest back home and landed. We had 3 recon fighters who also landed safely.

S! Frenchy

Apparently there were TBM's to the North of us which these F4U's were covering.  Too bad we didn't have enough time to chase them down too.   :(

Had fun winging with u all night.  Even the first 1 and 1/2 hours when absolutely zilch was happening.  Enjoyed trying to stay on your wing while you danced through cloud layers against a gorgeous sunset.  Man it's hard to see anything when you are below a low cloud layer with the ground in heavy shadow!

The fight:

I was behind and a little above you when you engaged the F4U.  I saw him break into you, and anticipated he'd do a headon with you so I went high, rolled on my back, cut throttle and split S'ed down on his six after you guys merged.  Was almost perfect, I was D .500 with E advantage almost right away.

Meanwhile the two other dots we spotted were coming down off the headland, with the F4U we were chasing on an intercept course.

The F4U in my sights was rolling like crazy but I figured I could hang with him for a second since the two incoming would be at a high deflection angle.  He shoulda turned away from his buddies to give them our sixes if we followed.  But he didn't.   :)

Instead he decided to break high to the right and I hit him with a deflection.  Man those twin 20mm's in the nose of the Ki61 with almost zero convergence are bad news for anyone who gets in front of them.   :)   He blew up midair, like, right now.

This did not make me popular with his buddies.   ;)  I had to sweat for a while as they took turns taking runs at me, (almost collided with one) with you doing your best to cover my tail.  I owe you one.   :)

Then the other two Ki's got into the act and gave me a breather.  One of the F4U's reacted by turning away from me to go after someone else.

I took a calculated risk at that point and came out of my defensive circle long enough to take a shot at him as he rolled into me.  Saw multiple cannon hits on his right wing as he went out of sight below my wing, but didn't have a chance to see if the wing came off or he hit the sea, or someone else finished him off. (we were 100ft off the deck)  I was already into a defensive maneuver against the one on my tail.

A few seconds later you solved that problem for me.   :)

Pretty intense.

I came into this my first TOD with the preference of flying an F6F, (kind of a mini-Jug  :) ) but the Tony's are fun, even if they are a little slow.

Rogue Squadron

Launched 3 P38 JABO aircraft to hit A2

usarmy
dux
hodo

Results

All ack destroyed
Barracks destroyed
Vehicle hanger destroyed
2 ammo bunkers destroyed
Field left with 25% fuel
1 KI 61 confirmed killed (Hodo)

Lost 1 a/c due to ack
1 a/c returned to base with damage (engine)
1 a/c shot down bailed over friendly territory

We bugged out of A2 when we saw high enemy contacts heading north. I rtb due to damage, while hodo shadowed the contacts (which were KI-61s), and engaged the enemy when we felt he was at an advantage.     :D

Hey Funked, reading the AAR's I got a pretty good idea that you and another Ki were the guys wreaking havoc on our F4U's. It was chaotic at first (many vs many), but then it came down to 2-3 hi Ki's BnZing 3 lower F4U's... Hawkwind, rogwar and myself. I think ya shot us all down. 3 more guys in our squad were refueling at that time and they relaunched and went back after ya (shooting u guys down I think).

MAN those were good fights!! <S>

Nash, who was the fourth one when Becker and I were b&z?  He dissappeared (inside icon range) after Becker made a pass.  I figured he augered trying a split-s too low but looking at the logs, maybe it was a disco.  If it was a disco it was timely, because he was going down like the rest of you.   :D

That was kbman (he disco'd) - and I respectfully disagree.    :) For one thing - he doesn't go down that easy no matter HOW good a chance Becker (?) thought he had, and if kbman stayed connected it woulda been 4 of us vs 2 of you. You guys were higher than us, yeah, but we *still* woulda wiped the floor with you two.   :D

So in my little fantasy world, instead of the three deaths it woulda meant no deaths, and two more IJN scalps added on to our pile of 12 or so. Btw, was it your job to protect the 88's? In addition to the majority of your squad, we killed practically all of the 88's also...   :D

You two flew very smart... (resulting in alotta frutrated remarks by me via RW) hehe. I actually made an audible "gulp" sound when I realized kbman was no longer online. I think we had 3 disco's in that frame...

Anyway, just a bit of razzing   :) ... it was a ton of fun! Cya in round two!
