This Panzer IV was knocked out or abandoned following a failed German counter attack on the positions of the 3rd US Infantry Division in the Anzio beachhead on March 3rd 1943. This tank likely belonged to the 3rd Panzergrenadier Division as it was the nearest German tank-equipped unit to the US 3rd at the time.
