CSU Pueblo. Had an NAIA team until 1984, dropped the program. Locals invested in new stadium and restarted program in 2008 in RMAC Division 2, just in time for me to retire and come back to town :D. In six short years (2014) they took the National Championship. Looking good this year for a probable run into the playoffs!

Ah yes,  I remember CSUP when FHSU was in the RMAC. I saw the resent D2 poll has FHSU at #9 and CSUP at #13

Fort Hays had a great season last year too. This one should be interesting.

Waiting for my Iowa Hawkeyes to start their 2018 campaign on September 1st. Though I can't watch it out here on the west coast, I will be hunting updates all day.

For the first time in 20 years ( or whenever Tom Osborn retired from coaching ) there has been no pre-season diatribe from the nay-sayers and critics of the NU coaching staff.

Scott Frost, as the new head coach of the Huskers, is treated as the return of the prodigal son. Very possibly the nearest thing we've had to Coach Osborn since his retirement.

The excitement is real. I hope Coach Frost can get the program back.. or at least significantly closer, to the glory days of when he was taking snaps...

Go Huskers!

It will be interesting to see how it goes with Frost in there.  It does seem he's the perfect fit.

Where do you think Nebraska will come out in Big 10 west this year?

No freakin' clue.

I'm assuming we can toss away any predictions based on last year's performance due to the new regime.

We really won't know until they start playing.  If Frost goes back to Nebraska basics, it will be a ground game where the O line just beats up the defense until they're too weak to stop them by Q4.

Last year the QB wasn't an option QB.  That just isn't Nebraska football..  and the result wasn't that surprising.

Do they have an option quarterback this year?

What did Frost run at UCF?

I'm assuming so.

Last year, Frost was actually running options plays as QB during practice at UCF.

Best way to show how to do it right, I guess.

It will be great to see Nebraska as another strong competive team in the big ten.  tOSU being top dog for years follow PSU, Mich, MSU, Iowa and Wis is getting boring.

Yes, us Iowa fans are watching the Scott Frost situation with some selfish interest. I don't think Nebraska will rock the football world this year, their schedule does them almost no favors. But we should start seeing some improvement in their competitiveness this year.

It's an outrage!  The Wolverines are never boring!   ;) :aok

Consider 2016.  They lost to Iowa by 1 point, to Ohio State in double overtime by 3 points, and in Orange Bowl to Florida State by 1 point.  Heights of excitement right down to the last!

Even in 2017, the collapse in the Outback Bowl was of such epic scale that you could watch it in bemused wonderment, exclaiming, "Wow!  You don't see that very often!"  :uhoh

This year, it will be exciting to see what they do, and they have a hellaciously challenging schedule abounding with big games.  It will be glorious!  :aok
