Any word on XP being "reinstated"?

No chance that M$ or any secure firm will be running it again. :D

If there are that many people running XP, it says a lot about the player base.

My Windows '95 still runs the game fine.  I don't need that newfangled XP stuff the young folks use.   :old:

And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

WindowsXP has run its course / life cycle....

It was very gracious of HTC to keep on supporting it for as long as they have done.... Most would think that a game developer/ company dealing with online mmog business model would have dropped support for WindowsXP about the time Windows 8.0/8.1/8.1 Pro rolled out in my opinion....

As far as AH community members wanting to cancel their account because they are not able to use WindowsXP anymore to play AH3 but actually still want to fly AH3 if anyway possible... I would recommend trying to help those AH community members find the easiest way possible to help them upgrade their OS to at least Windows 7 Pro SP1 64bit OS (Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit OS is ok to, but I recommend Pro version minimum), and if possible the rest of us check our PC parts bin(s) to see if anyone of us are able to get them up to the minimum requirements needed to play AH3 as of the  current time

Just a suggestion/thought

Hope this helps.....

Thanks TC. 3 pages only one offering help.
For the record I called release notes updated after I call.

But, all the poking fun rudness really "speaks volumes" about our community.

TC hit it on the head, in about 2 years MS will stop support for Windows 7 and this cycle will start again. Tech is always evolving and advancing, we can either embrace the change or we can hope that developers will continue to support what ever OS we hold as the Holy Grail. Unfortunately, supporting an OS that is no longer supported by its developer can be a risky business, especially when security patches no longer flow from said developer.

Nvidia has already dropped main support for their products on 32 bit operating systems and will discontinue critical security support for 32 bit systems January 2019 (we'll see if it happens).

Systems are fairly cheap to build these days, at least the ones needed to play this game. Of course, the more you require your machine to do the more expensive it gets. My main machine is set up for animation, rendering, 3D design, it was a bit pricey but well worth the money and it's 3 years old now and still runs like a raped ape. My music production machine on the other hand serves one purpose and that is to run Cubase 9.5 Pro linked to a Tascam US-1800 interface. That machine (not software) cost me about 250 bucks.

If you do nothing more than word processing, surfing the web and play AH3, building a machine specifically for AH3 isn't going to break the bank. Don't get caught up in the flashing lights of the  "newest" hardware.

Does not necessarily require a new machine.  You can still buy Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and it will run on any hardware Windows XP ran on.  Windows 10 may or may not work (most likely it may not work) on older hardware.

If it is an OEM computer (i.e. Dell, HP....), check with them to see if drivers are available for Windows 7 and your computer before buying Windows 7.

I am running AHIII on an old 2.4Ghz Core 2 box w/4GB of systems RAM, with Windows 7.  Runs fine as long as you keep it clean.

You're right, the point being made is that it doesn't cost two arms and a leg to either build a machine or upgrade your current machine for this game.

If you happen to live in the EU could easily get a Windows 7 or 10 license for ~10€. I didn't pay much more than this for any license past win 98  :old:

I'm on a old doll xps gen5 3.0 Pentium D
Only use it for Aces High.
I was averaging 75fps with things turned down

Wonder if 10 will work.

If not guess I'll find a good used machine.

Anyone got anything that will run medium settings at least they wanna sell?

Would a linux based os be any good?.....I know you would have to run wine...or what ever they use now...but could be a free option....

Skuzzy will be along shortly to slam this if it is not an option...

I't was not a desire to drop XP, the issue was for html5 support I hand to change apis  to chrome embedded which won't run on XP and upgrade to VC2017. Youtube had dropped html4 support and hence all our training videos for new users were not playing in the game.
