if you go with VKB you may see jesus before you get the thing, and there customer service has really gone down hill.

The waiting part is for sure! No denying that. I've never had a problem with the North America rep. That guy has always  been quick with an email response. It seems the guy for the EU tends to go dark for crazy ridiculously long periods of time.
