Influence and inspiration does not have to be evident throughout and become an exact copy. Think of the Hittite versus the Egyptian chariot. The Egyptian chariot may not be an exact copy, but an improved copy of the Hittite chariot. The influence and inspiration is quite obvious, the Egyptians just made a better one.
