Must be the most boring Super Bowl ever.

"If you stayed awake until the end, you did get to witness history: This was the lowest-scoring Super Bowl ever—a fitting honor for three hours of somnambulant sludge that defied every pre-pregame prediction involving these previously high-flying teams.

I’m half convinced this sleepy Super Bowl was the result of a hex from the good people of New Orleans, still seething that a missed call in the NFC Championship prevented their beloved Saints from being here."

So I guess it was a mistake I stayed up late night to watch my first superbowl ever?
Went to bad after the equally 'exciting' halftime show...

How about that super bowl record punt? LOL.

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

The NFL was trying to reset from their last year of fubar over take a knee during the national anthem screwed up ratings and low ticket sales. It had to be bland and as much as possible politically neutral. Even the halftime show was more old school than I've seen in a long time. You can even see how the hitting game has changed since the whole concussion fiasco happened and they changed the hitting rules along with hefty fines.

The game looks more like college football played by pro ball players, gives me a sense of rugby or Aussi Football with huddles. Now that they can no longer target key players to take out of the game by HITTING them and make ratings with gratuitous hitting, you can see a lot more strategy taking place. Looks like a lot of the earth hog linemen got put on diets so they can be more maneuverable. Very few have huge tires hanging over their waste bands. You see a lot more old school style running that they have to tackle the backs and not hurt them instead of kill them with a 350lb hitter targeting them for head and knee injuries.

This next season may be better to watch if the pendulum is really swinging back to strategy, skill, and athletic ability. Versus the game starting in the 70's used to be earth hogs crunching each other in a gladiator arena while the backs and quarterbacks were being targeted for the hospital with every play to get ratings and keep ticket sales up.

What you mean it actually requires skill and stamina instead of just running into guys for a whole 5 seconds?

Didn't watch it..
Instead, I ran the NFL films of Superbowls 1 thru 15, end to end, all day..

That gave me my football fix until next year!

You might have missed a game that was right up your alley, then. When the game was over my dad said "That was like a Superbowl from the 70's. It sucked!"

It is acknowledged, that the two greatest football games ever played were back to back, 1975 AFC Championship game, Raiders at Steelers.. Steelers win a Brutal game, in sub zero temps.. Go into Superbowl 10 injured and beat up, but beat the Cowboys in an EPIC game!
