An example of youtubers to sponsor.
« on: April 02, 2019, 03:23:01 PM »
The following list of youtubers is only meant as an example, due to the nature of them only being about tech/computers news/articles.
The most effective approach/youtubers would be the sim/wargamer youtubers who probably have around 10k-20k subscribers and blanket them all with advertisment spots for low cost, simultaneously. The larger the subscription base exponentionally increases the cost to advertise/sponsor on those channels.

I have not seen an ad on YouTube in quite some time. Do they still run ads?

There are small embedded ads still (You might have ad-blocker?) and the youtuber themself (talking about a product).

Phlydaily should be added to the list. He made one video in the past about AH3. Although I don't watch his content myself except for that one video

I do have an ad blocker. Without it many, if not most content is unreadable without all the popups and interruptions.

When you go to a site and immediately see 20 to 30 blocked items, you know how bad it was before the blocker.

Sites that are reasonable I unblock.

This may be a good place to start with flight sim/etc channels to sponsor:

I did a preliminary scout of valid Simulator channels as well as VR channels since HT is probably looking to leverage that.
Youtube channels go as follows:

Simulator
Laobi
X-CHECK
Robin Takolander
Sheriff's Sim Shack
Reality Check VR
Cas and Chary VR
VoodooDE VR
UploadVR
RowdyGuy
MRTV-Mixed Reality TV
GamerMuscleVideos
hihi12101

Not as many as I hoped, but maybe others can fill the list a bit?

I tried to do this a few years ago to no effect. I've been posting AH videos since 2009 here is a playlist of 103 different videos of just AH3 this isn't counting all my other videos from AH2 and AH1. I use Sony Vegas Platinum then made the change to Pro Edit so from a 100 dollar program to a 500 dollar program.

But the issue you've always had is that HTC doesn't seem to care much or have the ability to actually market their product.

Maybe they just disagree with your marketing ideas.

Maybe they just disagree with your marketing ideas.

So when I asked a few years ago what I could do to help I was given an opportunity to make those annoying videos that open when you start the game each time, I asked what they wanted to see and was given a generic "uh under a minute video and cover the aspect given." I was asked if I wanted scripts after a couple videos I came up with weren't what they were looking for I said yes please and after a while I think close to a month of no scripts I just put things together I asked them to look at them and after a span of time waffle ended up doing the videos and I heard nothing from them anymore.

So i guess if no marketing is a marketing idea then sure I guess I'd disagree with them. If you have a product and don't market it or advertise it I'm not sure what the desired effect is.

Also who is they? Waffle and Hitech? yeah big marketing team...I just want the game to continue but it seems that this isn't a concern of the guys. But yeah it's my fault.

They didn't use your intro videos so they don't do marketing?

Those two things aren't actually connected.

You would need 10s of thousands of subscribers to be even worth sponsoring.

And the folks with the subscribers wont know how to play the game. The time to learn and be proficient wouldnt entice prospective youtubers to play notice phlydaily and devildoggamer did one video a peice and then nothing.

No sir I would think the fact that they dont do any marketing would show they dont do any marketing. No ads that anyone has seen, no commercials. Even if you did draw new plauers they have to learn on thier own as you dont have dedicated tutorials or staff and so for folks who are younger the place they go is youtube and the only person who has videos on there for the most part is me. I link my discord where anyone can come in at anytime and ask questions or I can talk with them directly. You guys wait on someone to show up in the forums which most folks dont know or care to use and see if they ask for help.

So in terms of trying to generate new players with actively responding to questions and training folks through the use of videos and whatever the current sink or swim approach we have had for years I think the former works better. But if you dont advertise or market your game then single people here and there can only do so much.

To end even if you got 500 players tomorrow how do you keep them? You have no training no tutorials and no additions in content or gameplay. Getting players is great keeping them is a whole other matter that I think continues to be overlooked.
