Please do something.

HT, please do something: Youtubers should be sponsored by you and the name of the game should spread through the internet.

I don't want my hobby to die, even if its a slow one.

It appears that flight controls for new players is the biggest issue for new players to stick around. Most players use a mouse. 3 solutions I really like are:

 A. Putting a "training videos" link on the clipboard map so players can easily click and watch for approved videos that help them with the basics. There is a training tab in the forums, why not in the game where everyone sees?

B. Use Lazer's mouse and button layout as defualt. If Lazer can fly like that using a mouse. He's doing something right.

C. Basic Mouse/Keyboard default loading screens like many other games do to give players a full visualization of the controls. It helps!

Easy peasy!

I just started playing this game a few years back after a 20 year break because my 14 year old son started playing War Thunder.  I set my kid up an account here in AH3, bought him a joystick and throttle, showed him what was up and how to map his controllers and everything.  He played off and on for a few weeks and then quit all together.  Asked him what was up and he said it was a slow and boring game.  He hated having to open the game and get his bearings on where the fight was at, launch a plane and climb out just to find some action then to get his bellybutton kicked in short order.  He only get a couple of hours on his computer for games because of homework and such.  He gets a much better return in action playing War Thunder than he does here given his time allowed.  What baffles me also is he prefers playing with a mouse even though he has a joystick and throttle on his desk.  AH3 is sort of an odd game because it only caters to a very slim sliver of the population who has the time to sit down at their computer for hours on end to enjoy "what it has to offer".  AH3 is not "realistic" in my opinion, far from it.  What it is though is very heavy in consequences.  You could spend an hour climbing out to bomb a target and get decimated in a couple of minutes by a guy a fighter.  I mainly GV and have only ever grabbed a Tiger 2 maybe three times.  You would think you were about to have some real fun but no!  It travels slow, the gun traverses slow, it reloads slow, and if you lose it to someone you are disappointed you lost that many perkies.  This game is for people 40 years old or better that have lots of time on their hands and enjoy the heavy time investment with the heavy consequences.  I have no clue as to where HT could invest in advertising to find a large pool of that demographic.  Maybe retirement homes??  SilverSingles.com?? LOL  This game is just not modeled for the general public.

Funny thing is you guys think those games are easy they got a learning curve just like here if you wanna be really good its gonna take alot of time and work because those games have vets just like we do. you spend so much time on this game doing climb out or RTB.  when you spend 10 mins getting to a fight here in the other games the battle has started been fought and done in that amount of time and hit battle again.  if you have 2 hours per day to play you can do 2-3 sorties and you could get 10 kills or maybe none and feel like you wasted the entire time you had.

i wish Hitech would fix the mouse controls so folks could be just as good with a mouse as you could a joystick and leave it up to the players on what to use.

also maybe a section on the map for air spawns say in the corner of a map have a setup like furball lake in the DA with airspawns. just to see how it works. i know we can create any arena we want but thats not the answer here the MA is the main play ground and thats where every one is so we need to try a few thing there and see if they work if not then it cant be that hard to go back.

Was my comparison to Netflix less valid that 1stpar3's comparison to soy latte?

Do you not think people make relative economic comparisons, especially between two products with subscription models?

Patience is irrelevant when the GUI is terrible and hinders new players.

Here is the age demographic for Aces High:

One Star Means you enjoy the Game and play 2-3 times a week for a few hours but school and friends take up most of your time and your age is about 18-25.

Two Stars means you play 3-4 times a week you have a job and family learned about the achievements and 60% of your game play is to reach them and your age is about 26-36.

Three Stars means you have either a part time job or not working play the game 4-8 hours a day and still trying to hunt down the last achievements to reach 15,000 your kids are in their teens and your wife works full time and your age is about 37-50.

Four Stars means either you been playing for 5+ Years or you have no life and your game play is a 12+ hour Shift. You're also either divorced, retired, have a wife that works full time and no kids.

I think that about sums it up. LOL!!!!

Also do not let players discourage your from Vulching or Camping and area. If AH didn't want you to do it they would not have an Award for it. They also would not have an Award for you surviving a vulched base as well.

Don't hate the player for playing the game!  :airplane:

AH3 will never appeal to the average "gamer"... instead it caters to aviation/ww2 buffs and generally speaking that is a dwindling audience. Sadly fewer and fewer folks are into military history.

Sadly I knew that the "little timmies" with ADD were going to kill us as the flight combat game industry started to cater to them. Eye candy and instant action. That's it. They don't give a ratcrap if the P-51B or the LA-5FN have their historical loadouts or any other damn thing. Just go blow s*** up. Look at War Thunder and all the freaking one-off-prototype 1946 what if s*** they have. They are knee deep in it. Their Seafire? I think its the Mk.XXVIII with 3 counter rotating props...maybe 2 built (if at all).  Its insane.  :(

Here is the idea of a low capability plane now (cuz its not jet powered):
