Arlo, are you sure the Yak-7B and Yak-9T were only in the late war arena?Both should have been at least been in mid war and the 7B is arguably early war and would be very competitive in the early war arena.
It's just the arena that HT put it in (probably since there wasn't an earlier version of a U.S. torpedo plane modeled). It could also be that if it was built in `42 or earlier then that was the qualifier and the TBF and TBM weren't that drastically different (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grumman_TBF_Avenger).Whatever the reason, those or something entirely different, that's where HTC placed them.

Custom arenas can be populated any way we want. I was just trying to provide the OP with a reference of HTC early and mid placement per request.

Right, that is why I believe his custom arena would benefit from a better balanced plane set.
B-25C was early war wasn't it?
The MW arena had the best plane set matchup in the game. There wasn't one plane that was overly dominate, well except the P-38J. For a long time it was the top killer in the MW arena.
