Hilda Shane
« on: August 09, 2019, 07:53:28 AM »
Thank you to Lyric1 for finding me info for this aircraft. I also found some in this RAAF A-20G thread on the Britmodeller site.

In April 1942 the Royal Australian Air Force's 22 Squadron were equipped with some A-20 bombers originally intended for the now-overrun Dutch Air Force. From October these were employed on low level attacks on Japanese positions in New Guinea. The squadron soon adapted their bombers for the role, fitting nose guns in the bomb aimer's position for ground straffing. The original Dutch aircraft were gradually supplemented with ex-USAAF machines and in June 1944 some brand new A-20Gs. The squadron CO's aircraft featured a Vargas pin-up as noseart and was called "Hilda Shane" after his wife and son.

Very nice!
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Great skin Greebz.  And if you think we're kinda nutty about the historical accuracy of our skins, the modellers make us look like a little league team from Buttzville NJ.
