noob joy stick question.

Yar shipmates, im back, played around 2000 and had a ball, real life took me away but...retired now and ready to check out III. So, I obviously don't want to spend a ton of money but, I want a stick that is compatible (that means a stick that is not complicated to hook up and play). Nothing fancy just a decent stick that makes it easy to learn to fly, if...when I get into playing again I will be willing to throw a ton of money into a top of the line system. (some people never grow up). Please give me names of decent beginner sticks, controls so I can go on amazon and buy.

One of the best "cheap" sticks on the market. Hooks p easy, uses in game programming to assign axis and buttons, has twist action to be used for rudders.

TM also make a T.Flight Hotas which is very cost effective. The main differences are build quality and more importantly accuracy. The T.16000M relies on HALL rather than potentiometers and the resolution is on another level to most sticks on the market.

My X55 didn't even last 6 months before it started having button issues.  I've heard a lot of bad stories about the newer saitek  stuff.

I have been using the T16000 for about 6 months and I love it.  Got the TWCS too and it was good but a little grabby and not completely smooth.  Just figured out last night there is a tension screw adjustment and now it is perfect!

solid choice for the money,if money is no object there are several great sticks in the 300 to 500 range.... :bolt:

  you could add an xbox type controller as long as it's USB and use the extra buttons instead of the KB.  I have several controllers connected and only use the KB to type.

  That said been away for awhile but hope to return in early Sept. Once I'm back feel free to hit me up in the TA for any help you may need.

Mor, yea been thinkin about the connections, I run a game laptop and external disk with a gaming keyboard and a nice set of corsair headphones. Added on a nice monitor so now I may have to break down and buy an extension with extra usb's.  Should be able to run the external usb's. OK all, thanks again, gona order and hurry to get online.

Sea,

  be sure to get a powered hub,it will supply power to all your controllers and you wont have winblows cutting power and causing issues.Bonus you will have as many ports as you need to connect to,depending on the powered hub you get.
