Wireless HDMI
« on: October 05, 2019, 12:12:59 PM »
Anyone use on of these?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OABOZYC/ref=emc_b_5_mob_t

Looking to rearrange my home a little, and want to be able to watxh tv in different areas of my house, without having to run cable everywhere.

One question i have is, can i just hook it up to my DIrectTV box in a corner of my living room, and run all my televisions off this, without having the cable box actually hard wired to ANY television? I would rarely use more than 1 TV at a time, so i could move the recieving boxes around as needed.

Thoughts? Just run cable?

A Google search resulted in three YouTube videos on their setup to accomplish what you suggest.

At 5 ghz, that stuff will attenuate fast depending on the construction of your house. Unless that is super high powered, I would treat that like I would a 5ghz wifi signal. At 1 or 2 bars, you may have data rate issues and result in a crappy looking picture

Reading the specs, it says 100ft range clear line of sight. So in a house, may only be half that

This works fine for me. Use it here in New House we just moved too. Main box is Upstairs, far corner of 2nd story.. then wireless to BR2 across hall Upstairs ,LR -other side of house down stairs then BR1 Directly under BR2 . 2400 sq' downstairs upstairs. Works GREAT. Its an older house and we were gonna have to run cables to every room. :uhoh Install guy says"For $50 bucks more, we can run it Wireless from a main box."...DUH....heck yes. 30 min later and NO HEADACHES :x
