Proper Map Room settings ... which is right?
« on: December 07, 2001, 08:59:00 AM »
I notice that the Object Groups for the towns have the MAPTBL1 set to Maproom and the MPRM1 set to Void.
I always thought the table would be the void.

Does it matter?

Yes it matters. The maproom is used to display the objects on the table.

Proper Map Room settings ... which is right?

It can be a little confusing, but just think of the MPRM1 as the Building or Area that holds the MAPTBL1.  You could use a Hanger if you wanted to.

You need the MAP TABLE if you want to see the terrain map.  Try replacing the MAPTBL1 shape with a 20MM shape and you'll see what I mean when you go into the MapRoom in the game.
You could remove the MPRM1 but it wouldn't look good.

TY Gents.

Pokie,
Yeah, I get the concept...I guess I just forgot to apply the HT logic of calling the table a room and the room a void.  :)
I was thinking Room=Room. Too easy that way I guess.

I knew you did    just added extra info for any newcomers checking out the board like I did in my rookie days.

Hmmm...  how long does it take, to no longer be a rookie?     :D
I know you never stop learning while using the editor.
