Get rid of 200.  There's no reason to chit-chat with the enemy.
We have PM if needed.

I think Hitech was asking if we want the ability to mute direct messaging from opposing countries - which honestly should be an arena setting just like channel 200 (which used to be channel 1 for u older players)

Now with that clarification, does it make sense to disable cross-country direct messaging? (I'm assuming that's what you meant Hitech)

I'll stick my hand up and say yes, it should be an option I can disable as an admin and as a player.

I have the ability to close all cross country messaging. I have been debating if I wan to run a test week with cross country disabled.

Who thinks that it is a good idea to disable cross country chat?

No, sir.  I like talking to my enemy friends.  Rooks are the only good guys.  There's a few on the other sides.

What would be the downside to allowing the player to configure it either way, like they can choose to see chan 200 or not now?

It seems that I made a mistake in posting what I thought was problematic and unjust.  Pardon me for seeking a solution from this particular arena.  XconX, a person who no longer plays and has admittedly quit the game, has pinned the blame squarely on me for the faults of this game.  So be it.
It has been a blast playing for as long as I have, and with the numerous other players, many who no longer log on, or have cancelled their subscriptions.
Perhaps, HiTech, if you were to look at the actual posts prompting me to say what got me muted...and what I actually said, you would have a different view of why things happened the way they did.  It isn't just about numbers.
This thread has shown me that, even after 18 years of a constant subscription, it is probably time to do something else.
As far as I'm concerned, someone can close and lock this thread.

That would be the best choice IMO.  Give the player the ability to decide what he sees.

Wiley.

They already have that by tuning out 200.   :headscratch:
