Thank you to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin, which is an update of Kev367th's skin from 2006.

"Miss Cheri" was a P-38L of the 80th Fighter Squadron based in the Philippines in April 1945. As part of the 8th Fighter Group this squadron fought throughout the Pacific campaign in New Guinea, Borneo, the Celebes Islands, the Dutch East Indies, the Philippines and Okinawa. Their 225 kills made them the second highest scoring squadron in that theatre of war and 24 of their pilots became aces.

What exactly seems wrong with it, are the textures shifted one way by a few pixels? AH had a problem reading the 32-bit bmp files generated by the latest versions of programs like Gimp. This caused a texture shift to happen but that problem was supposed to be fixed in the last version. The skin looks fine at my end both in the viewer and offline in the game. Possibly though the process that converts the bmp files into AH's compressed "res" format for the game has still got this bug. I haven't downloaded the online skins in a long time but I will do so tomorrow to check.

In case its something at your end could you see if it is just this P-38 or are any others affected? IIRC for Miss Cheri and St Louis Blues I used the latest version of Gimp to produce the bmps but for my earlier P-38s I used an older version. If its just those two affected it would help explain it.

yes, the textures are off by several pixels, just on this P-38L from what I saw.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll check it out and tell HT we still have a problem with this. In the meantime I'll revert to using the older version of Gimp for 32-bit conversions.
