Clipboard maps?
« on: August 19, 2001, 04:15:00 PM »
OK, I have about 6-7 hours experience with the editor(s) now and I have figured out a good many things.
I do need some help with 1 major area, and 1 minor area.
The major area: How do you create the navigational map for the clipboard?
Currently, I have a hunk of terrain, which I created using the mapmaker utility, and I have added 2 fields.

The minor area, which I will probably figure out soon enough: I "Group Rotated" a port so that the docks were hanging nicely into the water over the beach. All the of the objects moved and looked excelent in the editor. After building the terrain and testing it in AH, the port was 180° out of rotation and the objects seemed to be skewed about.
Any idea why?

Thanks,
Viper

Did you save before you hit the build button.

Sometimes I have more luck quiting out of editor to my desktop while saving, then run the editor again, then hit build.
( SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO TRY BUILDING A .RES MAP A COUPLE OF TIMES )

P.S.
I have 4 port files with docks facing NW, NE, SW and SE that I can email to you if you want.

As to the save: I saved then built on the first attempt.  On the 2nd, I saved and exited. When I came back into the editor to build, it was reversed.  Very odd.  I will try clicking build 2-3 times and see what happens.

Thanks,
