New Ryzen 3900X Build.
« on: June 19, 2020, 09:52:17 AM »
I finally caught one of the motherboards I want at normal retail price. So now I'm working on a new system build.

ThermalTake Core W100 super tower

AMD Ryzen 9 3900x
ASRock X570 Steel Legend AM4 AMD X570 Motherboard
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4 3600

EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC GAMING Black Edition (from old system)
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z PCIE Sound Card. (from old system)

2X XPG SX8200 Pro 2TB 3D NAND NVMe Gen3x4 PCIe M.2 2280 Solid State Drive (The raid zero debate has begun)
4X Toshiba N300 4TB NAS 7200rpm hdd (raid-10)
LG WH16NS60 16x Internal Blu-ray BDXL M-Disc Drive

Still looking at power supplies.

My youngest son will be inheriting my old system ....

LIAN LI PC-75B Black windowed Aluminum ATX Full Tower Case (Modded)
Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz LGA 1150
ASRock H97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (Ordered) (Shipped)
G.Skill Trident X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory CL7 (Received)
GIGABYTE Radeon R9 390 Gaming 1 SOC 8GB (Out of Mothball)
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1800 Tuner Card PCIe-1
2 Samsung 500GB 850 Evo 2.5" SATA III Solid State Drives (Raid 0)
3 Toshiba 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM HDD (Raid 5)
Corsair 850W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Right now he has a ThrustMaster T.Flight Hotas 4 but as soon as I get my new gear from Virpil he will be inheriting my old CH products gear. He has an interest in Flight and Combat Flight sims even the WWII and WWI stuff. I'm hoping to have him flying in the MA by the end of summer.

Noice

My kids usually end up with my latest build but not this last one  <evil grin>   :devil

Similar Build to your, completed a month ago works great no issues, did take a chance and bought a refurbished Acer XB272 Predator monitor off Amazon, not real impressed but maybe it is not working as it should <shrug> not sure.

Amazed your kid likes the sims, none of my boys were much interested , so many other games out there and TBH they play what there friends are playing, I get that.

Whether you think you can or cannot, you are right!
