Formations for light attack/dive bombers.
« on: June 24, 2020, 06:08:55 PM »
I think giving light attack and dive bombers formations could increase their use in the MA and would also make them much more appealing for use in special events because of their greater level of defensive fire and survivability.

for  attacking ships the bossies are my faves.. using several players at a timr would be nice when attacking them.. 9 0f 10 times i get thru the d to drop on ships.. and it pays about 50 perkpoints  per sortie on the bbs..   that is a b29 about every 12-15 min..

I agree...

A formation of TBMs and SBDs will get use.

Good post.

LOL naw..   just that it has been asked for before and some reason given. I just could not remember the reason and did not have time to search for it.

Have another beer...... meaning... kick back and relax. Don't get too pumped up over it.   :D

SBD, D3As, TBMs and such only real defense is maneuverability, adding formations would just give attackers 2 free kills in the process imo.

It would be nice tho for long range CV battles where bombers could actually play a real role. Right now nothing happens until they close into 8" gun range of eachother or someone calls in land based bombers. Seems like an easier programming solution than most of the asked for wishes.

We attack CVs when we find them.

Weird and i thought we attacked cvs without finding them.

Seriously tho this would be cool for fleet on fleet battles.

If you're in one of these and you have to rely on maneuverability for survival, you're as good as dead anyway.

At least with a formation, these planes could have a purpose in the MA.

As it stands now, nobody takes any of these from a CV because a D-hog carries 2k in bombs and 8 rockets. A TBM can take that much, but it's much slower. The others take even less.

With formations, a now a player can trade speed for 3x as much damage as a D-hog. That would actually make them useful.
