
It was reported to me that some pilots suffered from lag issues around the bomber stream, which by my count was 84 single ships at launch. We lost 1 formation to Disco due to storms early on so, 81 bombers made their way to bomb the Kiel Troop Strat. 28 of which were destroyed by Luftwaffe fighters and ack.
I personally had no lag issues being in the formation, but I can imagine the frustration. We also had reports of warping bombers, which is an issue with the Human Drones that has been an issue for several years now. I did see those. I always do in any special event with drone formations. I'm guessing the number of formations, plus AI ships compounds the issue.
So going forward, we are going to try to alleviate the issue inserting all bomber pilots into the staged mission after the formation launches. This caps the number of bombers at 36 total and prevents the warping human drone issue. Because of the overall number of bombers, I did not factor in survived bombers although I will in Frame 2 when the number is set at 36.
Next,
We're dropping the 60 minute interval on flight windows and going to the standard Fortress Europe flight rules where flight will reopen at T+60 for the entirety of the event. I absolutely hate keeping people down while the bombers are deep in Germany for both sides. It hurts game play and stifles action.
Finally,
I am opening the fields A23, A30, and A31 (Netherlands and Belgium) for Luftwaffe use. I will update the game map to reflect that. Please be mindful of the NO-FLY ZONE at the 3 line.
