Change icon range to what MNM is set to now

friendly icons 3K

enemy icons 1K

Keep dar dot the same

Makes for great fun there and would be at least a spin in MA IMO

lots of us are older with bad sight.  reduce icon range and might as well tell us to leave.

Semp,

Give it a try next Monday (or on a subsequent Monday).  It isn't "no icons."  It's "reduced icons."  Makes a nice balance between reality and fantasy.  And because of the efforts of the AvA staff, it gives people a chance to actually try it before they condemn it.

actually the only reason i don't play ava is my nearsighted is bad, I tried it many times before, couldn't see anything. actually yesterday somehow i disabled icons while flying bombers. i got a kill only because the guy came right on my six. next one was smarter got all 3 of my drones.

It is not no icons it just takes longer for them to pop in

With friendly popping 2k sooner than enemies there is no chance of friendly fire

No icons is not the way IMO..see DCS

You get this flavor in FSO.  Not sure it work as well in the melee.

Radar is left as is so you can see that there are planes somewhere..you just have to get closer to see them

The scenarios I have tried, the lack of dar made it extremely boring as you flew around for hours to have a 10 min encounter.

Real maybe boring yes

As it seems like a minimal code change you would think it is something that could be tried easy enough

I would be nice if the mossie bomber and fighter put up the same icon..........on the map screen.
