How does one record their game play when using vr? Im not talking about the HR recorder, Im talking about a recorder that will record what I see.

I have a RiftS and use a couple of programs to do it. First, there's Oculus mirror that's part of the Oculus software. You run that while playing AH. It has to be maximized on the monitor. It shows exactly what the headset sees, actually a bit more FOV.

Also use OBS. That's a free software you can use to record and stream. Use the setup wizard to get basic settings set up easy. You will have to set other stuff up. One being Oculus mirror as a window capture source, others being your mic and desktop audio. Another would be some hot keys to start and stop things.

I’ve got mirroring turned on for my rift.  Using your link, I went thru this link in my W10 files:  C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusMirror.exe.  When I double clicked, a black screen came up with nothing else showing.  I’m not sure what I don’t know about what I don’t know from here.  Some help and guidance for this computer Neanderthal will be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!  :aok

Mirror is a black screen if you're looking at the monitor. Put on the Rift and peek under. What's in the headset is now on the screen.

I did that and have about 2/3 of the screen filled with the rift view.  Does that equate to the both eyes setting?  If not, how is the both eyes setting accomplished?  Thanks!

There is a "hidden" settings menu in mirror. Thought it would be described in the link. With mirror up on the monitor left click on the upper lefty corner of the image--not the window frame. Single click. Should show the settings menu. One of the settings is either right, left or both eyes.

I was successful doing it as you described. Rereading the article, it wasn’t so obvious, at least to me.  Again, thanks for the help!  :salute

Yeah I just went back and looked at the mirror guide. Seems they haven't updated it to show how to get to that on screen menu I told you about. That started sometime since the first of this year. I probably read about it on a forum somewhere myself. One thing you can do now because of this is to set up mirror as you like in that menu, save those settings and simply load them again next time you run it. Prior you had to edit a shortcut with those settings and load it that way. New way is much easier.
