F4U-1C VF-85 no. 55
« on: October 04, 2020, 07:34:43 PM »
I looked high and low for something unique from a squad we don't have with no luck yet. VF-85 seems to have plenty of pics and actual records that show which plane numbers where -1D's and -1C's thanks to former Shangri-La crew members putting the CV's history out there. In the picture the first row are -1D's and 2nd row are -1C's. I might go back and take the squad art off, they didn't have the numbers on the cowl and may not have had that either.

CHOG! lol.

Amazing work! <S>
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Looks great.

Only thing I'd adjust is to darken the Insignia Blue so it can be seen against the Sea Blue. I can only see it over the heavily faded paint on fabric part of the upper wing.

Really good looking skin Whiteman.

Anyone else remember the time when it seemed that every other plane in the MA was a C-Hog?

Just noticed #49 is a skin Saxman had done.
That one maybe up for adoption.

Edit: Just noticed I have a partial on #50 on file.
