Same group, different squadron. "MX" was the code for the 78th FG/ 82nd FS. Big Beautiful Doll was coded "WZ" which was 78th FG/ 84th FS.

I knew Richard Hewitt, the pilot of 'Big Dick'.  He was a super nice guy.  Wrote a book about his exploits.

Big Dick refers to the roll of the die on the front.....I have to look it up, but that's what's it is there for.  Of course his name was also Richard and they did also like the underlying meaning there, as he used to refer to his 51 (during the war as well) as My Big Dick :-)
