Ki-61 vs the world
« on: October 25, 2020, 01:05:49 AM »
What is the most even fight in the Aces High Allied plane set vs the Ki-61?
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

P-39Q and P-40N are probably the Tony's most evenly matched opponents.

P-40F and P-38G are close but worse than the Tony with average pilots. However, the 38 is untouchable if flown well.

F-6F and P-38J are close but superior to the Tony.

How do you figure? Any Corsair will run rings around a Tony.

Having flown both a fair amount, I think the Tony v. Hellcat is a pretty even match.  Neither one can outrun the other.  Tony's guns are better, but the Hellcat probably has a slight edge in turns.  I look forward to that fight, whichever plane I'm flying.  Both require a fair amount of experience to get the best out of them.  Neither is a noob ride.

Those sound like some fun fights with a p40N and 39. My money is still on the 61. The J could easily be a close fight depending on E state.

I think a hellcat would gain the advantage after a few turns being able to get slower, but I think Pilot capabilities certainly matter early on.

A g14, G6, or G2 can be a pretty close fight depending on pilot.

A spit8 might be a good one.

Ki61 really has a lot range with other fighters. Certainly could use a few more horses under the hood.

About 4 or so  years ago,  Tongs flying the ki-61 Tony gave Badboy and I a run  for  our money while we were working on wingman tactics in the MA.... however I can't remember if Badboy and I were in P-51D's or F4Us (most likely would have been the -1 hog if we were)

Was quite a fun and intense 2 vs 1 for all 3 of us.....

It's like asking about bomber guns. I mean there's regular bomber guns and then there's 999 bomber guns. Filed under sometimes its just the pilot.

Yeah because everyone in game is an expert in the Corsair.

Yeah because everyone in game is an expert in the Corsair.

I'm not talking about expert pilots.

The Corsiar will have a significant speed advantage at the merge and will out-turn the Tony when things get slow.

Aint war hell

Maybe you missed the question that Nef asked at the start of this thread.

What is the most even fight in the Aces High Allied plane set vs the Ki-61?

I highlighted the key words for you, since you seem to not understand the point.

I am so glad there are folks like you on this BBs that can take time out of a busy day to troll someone.

I simply stated that the F4u-1D is an even fight IMHO. You can either disagree or not.

Your "Ain't war hell" comment makes you look condescending and ignorant on the subject.

My apologies for being condescending in turn.
