new monitor
« on: November 07, 2020, 03:52:36 PM »
Does anyone use a 27" monitor @ 1920x1080p  thats what im looking at,  some say dont go bigger than 24" for that res.

 My monitor is dieing and i dont think my i5 3570 @ 3.4 with a gtx 670 2gb will do any better than 1920 x 1080

 Current monitor is 22" 1680x1050

Any people out there with a 27" in the game?

 Any help appreciated

I have used a 27" curved Samsung 1920x1080 with 60Hz refresh rate monitor for the last few years.  I didn't find 27" too large for the resolution, though I wouldn't go any larger than 27".

I just bought eight Acer - 27" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitors. I run them all at 1920 x 1080 @ 75Hz. They do fine.

I do not use them in game.

My game machine is connected to a 40" TV.

27" for 1920 x 1080 is not bad at all if the monitor is of good quality. Side by side checking is highly recommended.

I have a friend who uses a 60" monitor at that resolution for everything from office tasks to image and video processing and the image looks perfect at a viewing distance of about 3 feet! However that's not the cheapest model on the market, it was previously used as part of the background monitor wall of the TV news studio.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

I think I have a 22" or so, and I have to sit and look close to the screen to see something in small detail. Either I have to accept I am getting older and my eyes are getting funky or get a lot bigger monitor to use

I use a 32" HP  2560 x 1440 monitor, and like it a lot.  I did enjoy using it for Aces High, but now use VR.

In case this is helpful, my son's web site has some monitor recommendations (last updated March), including 1080 p monitors:  https://www.logicalincrements.com/monitors

I just received a LG 34WL500_B 34" IPS LED Ultrawide FHD Freesync Monitor with HDR. It runs 2560 x 1080 native.

I am using it for AutoCad.

I am looking at the Vive too. Oculus requiring a FB connection is a dead killer. From the news I am not the only one.

I recently changed mine to a 42" samsung 4K tv just to see how it goes. Apparently I had a 27" PC monitor and got tired of looking close at the screen. The text isnt as crisp as a monitor but then again im sitting only 2 feet from it too. Running at 1920 x whatever for the resolution. if I wanted to run it at 4K, it would have to be at 3xxx by 2xxx or whatever it is, then the words are as small as ants

Run at 4k if your card can handle it. You can adjust your fonts larger in windows.
