Just a thought...if not the best SciFi movie...maybe the best title?

When that came out, it was a hugely popular film - which, as with most hugely popular films, I somehow missed.

Watched it about a year ago.  Filmed in a mall.  Script by a five-year-old.  Ridiculous by today's standards.  Proof that we were dumber then than we are now.

On the other hand, there is Planet Nine from Outer Space...

It is...it is...its a cookbook.  Twilight zone?

 Wow...nostalgia.

Anyone remember a novel called "Childhoods End"? I don't recall the author but it was one of the best. And also "Dune".

All the movies mentioned in this thread...will watch some during the next shutdown after my behind gets too sore from dodging all you aces tearing up my keester!

"Dune"

My favorite book... tied with Catch 22

The Day the Earth Stood Still does have one of my favorite exchanges:

Helen Benson : You came to save the Earth... from us. You came to save the Earth *from* us.
Klaatu : We can't risk the survival of this planet for the sake of one species.

That quote doesn't count, because THAT iteration of the movie is an abomination.

And that's the nicest way to put it.
