Anyone else see that crash??   Yikes!!  If it wasn't for that halo around the cockpit, his coconut would have been mush.

One of these days I have to get my YT links working, maybe tomorrow.... :bolt:

Wow that was brutal. He is so freaking lucky he was able to walk away from that. Amazing how far safety protocol and these cars have come.

Yep, saw it right the moment it happened. Was like in action movies, the guy just jumped over the fence from the flames. Whew!

Amazing he got out!

That fire was intense. I wonder why it was so hard to put out. I guess quantity.  Do you guys remember that fuel that indy cars used, nitro methane?, it burned clear and fast, scary juice. I think they moved away from it.  This f1 fire was yellow and seemed to resist and shrug off what ever the safety crew was throwing on it.

I did think they were a bit lax.

They should come state side and get a lesson.  The nascar guys could show the ability to run, because the guy is dying.

Besides kidding, good thing that safety car was right there. Any other lap and vital time would have been lost.

The guys in the Safety Car saved his bacon with their quick response and putting the retardant where it was needed. I thought the other guy was a bit lax also but I wasn't there.

If I were an F1 driver I would want him replaced. He could have cost Grosjean his life. He started discharging his extinguisher fifty feet from the flames and never advanced towards the fire or the cockpit.
