How is going to sturgis and saying you had a good time exciting hate?

I only see it with the narrative that anyone who went to sturgis put everyone who did not go there, in danger.  I see it with those that talk down on others.

But I see your point.  One side wants freedom the other wants safety.  Who is correct?  Can we both be? Are we both?

With my logic it boils down to freedom with respect for others.  You can go to sturgis, and can also stay away from me. Both sides win and we are back to normal living.

I think the two groups can get along, as an example Sturgis.

Go to Sturgis, burn your masks! Have a blast and enjoy yourselves, but when its over, everyone goes home and quarantines for two weeks before moving out amongst the rest of those that are trying to stay safe.
