I'm driving my car in a city parking lot.  I see a spot, so I put my hazards on then position myself to back in and put my car in reverse, at that moment the Mercedes SUV behind me proceeds to drive up my bumper, hazard lights and reverse lights and honks. The SUV backs up ten feet and I back into parking.  The SUV drives into a spot 20 yards away.  We both get out.  The young twentysomething woman gets out and goes strait to the entrance without even a glance.

You are correct, zack, I should give it another go. The reading list for that course was all a bit dry and dark, for me. There was a work on the Armenian genocide, too that I have forgotten about. At the time, I cannot say that I gave socialism any thought. In fact, I did not even care about politics, political systems, or government. I only cared about airplanes and wars. So, I think I read it at the wrong time. I will reread it and see how I react to it now that I am more learned and aware.
