Our SYNOLOGY router took a dive and need a new one. Any good recommendations that dont include SYNOLOGY?

I have run a Netgear Nighthawk router for over a year. I really like it and get great signals all over my 3/4 of an acre lot.

That one looks good and seems to have some duration to its service.
I see they now have tri-band routers, just a question of time I guess.

Depending on home size and number of devices, even the cheapest ones work just fine. I too have an older Nighthawk and it works great. But some can be found in the $40-60 range too which are more than sufficient.

Well I certainly was thinking it would be a few hundred to get a one with some quality.
Some router company going to get stimulated.

Oh, and thank you for the input on my wifi output.

I have a linksys wrt1900acs that's a few years old now. I get good coverage all over the house. I have an extender that reaches all of my yard. The back corner is my BBQ spot and that's the only place it gets flaky. Very important area! Otherwise it's been great. Easy to manage too.

Just to add... I have a smart home. Almost all my lighting is Lifx full color bulbs with each having built in wifi. All lighting, ceiling fans, temperature control, garage, vacuums, sound systems, and other items are controlled by voice. My fridge, ovens, dishwasher, washer and dryer are connected too.

I have a lot of wifi in my home.

Well, speaking for me, I think we have a dumb house. Just use it for a couple smart tvs and phones, oops; and a printer.
A continuing thanks for the input.

I didn't even list those..... hahaha

My point is that it can handle a heavy wifi load. Most all of those items run on 2.4 GHz. I use the 5 GHz some with computers and phones.

I have a couple of routers I can actually give away. Mostly older G class N class and early AC Class Home grade routers. I think I may have one or two that have no wireless at all.

Something tells me that's the one I set up at my daughter's place. They're happy with it. I've had a TP-Link range extender for the yard and it's been fine for a few years now.
