<<SALUTE>> Svaalbar

No kidding the best fight I have ever had in any event in AH3 was last night against Svaalbar.

Arabian Knights made contact with the He111s and made our run on them.  I managed 1 very clean pass on the bombers.  I extended out as far as I possibly could so I could re-enter from a tactical position before they went "bombs out".  There was some dodging from the embedded escort but as I was making my run on the lead bomber group I had 3 Bf109E-4s that had different plans for me.  I did a few moves to keep my line and when I was about 1k to guns on, I noticed a fighter was 400 off my 6 so I turned off the bombers and dropped my nose a little hoping the fighters would extend out with the bombers and I would live to fight on another day...

...not to happen.

A single 109 stayed with me and we started twisting, turning, and winding all the way to the deck.  The 109 just would not let go of me.  By the time we reached the deck, after the first full turn, I was out of cannon.  I guessed he was too.  This fight turned into a non stop, knockout, 7 minute, white knuckle fight.  At one point toward the end of the fight, it seemed he was ready to break contact and go our separate ways.  I gave the wing wiggle and started to egress when he suddenly pitched up and back toward me and we scrapped some more.  I didn't realize it at the time but now looking at the film, I assume he had a PW.  Not too long after he pitched back his engine gave out from the oil leak.

At that moment I leveled out and let him land his plane to get the ditch. in an open meadow.  I turned back to give him the honorary wing tip salute and fly off but he towered before I made it to his location.

This epic fight was against Svaalbar and I have to say, this was my very first epic fight like this using VR.

A big SALUTE to you, Sir!  I hoped you would have had the chance to make it back.  Well flown!

this is why we play
A yappy back seater like Jester wasn’t popular or fun to fly with, more of an unnecessary distraction than anything else---Puma44
