HTC outage - Texas!
« on: February 17, 2021, 05:24:07 PM »
So, not sure what the numbers are for HTC.  But, does anyone else know why HTC doesn't use Azure or AWS?  Wouldn't have had this situation with power outage.   :x

First we are not typical cloud computing.

2nd cost is drasticky different.

Understood, thanks.  Please understand that wasn't a criticism but a general inquiry.  With a genset for your data center, you have done well now, and in the past.   :aok :) :)

???  Sorry, not sure about your point and I was asking an honest question which was answered good and in all faith.  Case closed in my opinion.

So, not sure about your response here?

I apologize for my question as my company has spent almost 6 months moving to Azure for systems we couldn't imagine would be possible (including old legacy systems).  My question was purely honest from a pure "IT" and technical aspect and I was only asking from a high level.

However, Hitech provided an answer that was acceptable and I request this discussion be closed and locked.

If you think Azure or AWS never have outages (including significant ones) I have a bridge to sell you.

it was a joke aimed at HT but using your inquiry as the basis, in reference to hitech's response, in part "2nd cost is drasticky different." the word drasticky (sic) being mispelled.
