It was a battle during WWII. They made many movies and video games about it. Google it!

Man, I thought my life was pathetic.

At least I'm not you.

Saw all the views and no responses - figured everyone here are moonbats who went to schools that don't teach history and were wondering what a D-Day was!

Well which do you believe? A redundancy or from “departure” to “decision” to “doomsday?”

i grew up reading books that said d stood for disembark day. in the 70s it was disembark day or known as d day.

that's in 2 countries.  reader's digest had ww2 stories all thru the 70s.

I dunno, but I will go on the limb that if Rommel hadn't falled for FORTITUDE, he could have pushed the Allies out of the hedgerows and back to the beaches.

actually if romell had actually been in charge of everything having to do with the invasion it could have been different.  but it would not have stopped it completely. by then Germany had lost most of their hard core soldiers and the new ones were not willing to die. also airforce was mostly gone and German navy was not around.
