"My Darling Agitator" was a B-26 of the MTO-based 319th Bomb Group. It was first assigned to the group's 438th Bomb Squadron in 1944 in Italy where it was flown by Lt Donald Young's crew. Later it was transferred to the 444th Bomb Squadron and here it flew with 2nd Lt Lawrence G. Ervin's crew. When the group transferred from Italy to Southern France the top surfaces of their NMF aircraft were painted green to prevent them being so easily seen on the ground while the lower surfaces were left NMF. This aircraft received what looks like a thin sprayed coat of Olive Drab, although Medium Green and even RAF Dark Green were also used on occasion for this purpose.
