TM T16000 question
« on: July 29, 2021, 11:17:40 AM »
This stick is about 2 years old. At times lately, aircraft will slip out of auto-climb or auto level for no apparent reason. Calibrating solves the problem for a bit and then it may or may not return. In looking at X & Y axis numbers, they match up and hold steady. Given the hal sensors, there's nothing to clean or replace, right? Any thought as to what causes these issues, and a fix?

Thanks

what are you using for your rudder, the twisty? Ive never taken apart a 16000, so not sure if ALL axis are hal sensors. If so you might have one loose. One stick that had sensors on it that I did take apart only used hot glue to hold the parts in place. Maybe they go a small amount of glue on one and its broken away and slips when you yank that thing around......Ive seen you fly   :devil

Only way to know for sure is to take it apart and have a look see.

Max it's probably the sensor for the twist rudder. My last stick had the same problems and I repaired it by watching the following video.

Unfortunately, it started acting up again a couple of months later so I replaced the stick.

Good luck.

I use CH Peds and have the twist rudder disabled. Would that still contribute to my problem?

The rudder pedals will kick it out of auto as well and the CH stuff is all pots. An easy test is bump up the dead band on the pedals and see how long it takes to start giving you trouble again.

Are you using a powered usb?

Maybe unstable voltage?

Pedals have kicked my auto pilot off as well, sometimes it can be something as simple as sitting a bit sideways so you keep pushing the pedals off center ever so slightly.

Double checking other controllers may be worth the effort, too. Sometimes the game seems to assign things to the mouse or controllers you have connected for other game types such as steering wheels.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

Thrustmaster 16000 right out of the box was bad. Thrustmaster Control panel showed the rudder axis jumping all over the place. Turning on the Control Position box in AH showed the same thing. Twisting it back and forth several times would calm it down for a bit, then it would start all over again. The company contact said there was an issue with defective rudder pots and sent a replacement 16000, after I cut the cord and sent them a picture of such, and a short video of the problem. Although the replacement took many weeks to arrive because of shortages, supposedly.
About ready to try AH again.

Are you sure it's not the CH Pedals causing the issues?

Never gave that a thought. I'll disconnect them and see what happens.
