VR Oculus Quest 2 , audio driver conflicts
« on: October 04, 2021, 01:19:48 PM »
Recently I had issues when I pressed vox keys(f12 or T ) and the game would crash immediately. Just before, I updated Oculus Q2 then the issues started.  I use headphone Mic with surround sound, and prefer this over the built in Oculus sound and mic.  There was a conflict with the OQ2 driver and the headphone driver because the Oculus driver took over as default. Quick fix: Go into sound settings and disable the drivers you do no want to use. This includes speaker/headphone and mics . Only allow drivers that you want to use , save and you are good to go. The game crashing stopped immediately. In this case I disabled the Oculus Q 2 driver under "manage sound devices" and saved.   The crash was caused because the game didn't know which driver to choose,so you need to make it easier for the software by limiting the choice. Problem solved.
