This La-7 was flown by Major Kozin Pavel Andreevich, CO of the 523rd Fighter Aviation Regiment until it broke its back in an airfield incident on February 20th 1945. The 523rd flew Lagg and La aircraft throughout the war starting with the Lagg-3 in 1941, then the La-5, La-5FN and finally the La-7.
