And, to be honest, whatever group, be it political or not, that is attempting to use 'identity bs' to cause division in our society didn't attract me to their fold nor would I seek to join them. That is not the tactics being used.  I get where you are coming from by taking top line talking points at face value but the tactics are usurping a cause to inflict divisiveness on society.  That is the crux of the disagreement.

Forcing acceptance never works. It immediately puts people in a hard defensive position and fosters an us vs them mentality... could be the situation that was looked for from the start?

What I've noticed, Arlo, is that you have contributed absolutely nothing to the discussion in this this thread. Well, nothing other than passive aggressive, snide comments - always followed by the smile emoji so that you can make sure everyone  knows you're being "cute". If you don't believe me, go look.
